Today, please meet Jonathan Strickland, our fearless sales manager who lets the world know about the awesome books we have. Jonathan has a penchant for deep analysis, great conversation, and overuse of ellipses.
Q: Tell me a little bit about yourself.
A: I am without a doubt Alice's white rabbit … running, time obsessed, and, well, myopic! I love what I love; I likely didn't see what I didn't see.
Q: What was your favorite thing about school as a kid?
A: School was always a playground, and while I grew from concrete playground to library bookworm … moving parallel to my fancy and imagination is my key to good living. I loved my good teachers; got in lots of trouble with my bad teachers … my parents were kind but didn't understand (as my collection of report cards suggests).
Q: What do you do at Black Rabbit Books?
A: I take the BRB team's books on the road and am the first person to see the joy in the consumer's face as they "dig in." What a great job!
Q: What inspires you to make children's books?
A: I do believe that I am a grown man with a 12-year-old's brain. What makes a kid happy makes me happy … And as I move with a smile through every day, I hope our books bring smiles of accomplishment and joy within students … to whom, ultimately, we will hand over the reins. It's my mission, our mission, to have happy kids and smart kids.
